  1. B-379(1) Copy For this copy see Daniels, 62-6. Wanting [a1], [b1-2], [k1, 4.5], gathering [p], [t1, 4.5], and the blank leaves [t7-8]. Gathering [a] bound at the end; [a4] repaired; [h5] bound as the outermost of the gathering. The colophon reads: .M°.CCCC°.LXXV. Binding: Sixteenth/seventeenth-century Italian(?) gold-tooled brown morocco with five metal bosses on each cover; on both covers a border formed by a gilt roll of half rosettes and triangles surmounted by small flowers, within which double gilt fillets and a roll of rosettes and flowers in wreaths. Double gilt fillets form a double frame; in the corners of the central panel a fan pattern with a flame tool, all contained by a repeated drawer-handle tool. In the centre a wheel made up of the same tools as the corner ornaments, and also contained by the repeated drawer-handle tool; spine and turn-ins gold-tooled; possibly a remboitage. Size: 352 × 250 × 40 mm. Size of leaf: 341 × 241 mm. Pastedowns from a fifteenth-century parchment manuscript containing the records of a court dealing with breaches of the peace at Brescia in 1453. Occasional seventeenth/eighteenth-century marginal notes in Italian; signatures added by hand. Initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue. Provenance: Purchased in 1872 from William and Thomas Boone for £25; see Invoice Book (1870-5, Library Records d. 433). SHELFMARK: Auct. 4Q 2.12.
